Sooo behind on my blogging! Sorry guys! Here’s a wedding I finished a couple weeks ago. Whitney and Nick got married back in September at The Fairgate Inn in Camas, WA. The weather was gorgeous for this beautiful couple. They had so many great details! Loved their candy bar with little chocolates that had their engagement picture printed on it. So fun! Whitney’s twin sister had a really touching speech, I saw a lot of people dabbing their eyes when she was done. So sweet. Whitney and Nick definitely take the award for having a blast at their reception. They were dancing and singing to almost every song! Made my job so much fun. Just take a look! —

How beautiful are my brides this year?! My grooms are lucky men…and I’m a lucky photographer!

Meghan and Brian got married at the McMenamins Grand Lodge a few months ago. It was a pleasure to photograph their wedding day! Such a sweet, loving, and fun couple. Congrats you two!

Ok I admit it. I’m ridiculously behind. Like, embarrassingly so. Take 5 Photography had a record year in terms of photo sessions, but that also means long wait times for finished pictures. For that I apologize to my clients PROFUSELY! I am working night and day to get caught up. Right now my goal is all portrait sessions uploaded online and at least the best 200 of each wedding ready by Christmas Eve. Let’s see if I can do it! Keep your fingers crossed!! (And the caffeine comin’!)

Anyway…I better get to what this post is about. I have been waiting to show off this wedding for months!! Grant and John got married in August at a private residence in Eugene, OR. It was a sun-shiny summer day, absolutely perfect for cute sun dresses. Not so great for photography. We did what we could in terms of finding shade to shoot in, but things like John being in the direct sun during the entire ceremony could not be helped. That being said, everything else went off without a hitch! The yard was gorgeously decorated for the reception, I couldn’t stop shooting all their details! Between the picture-perfect reception area and the emotions that Grant and John showed for each other, and great families on both men’s sides, it was one of my favorite weddings of the year. Processing these pictures all MY emotions came flooding back. It was so awesome.

Congrats you two! I can honestly say that you were made for each other. I wish you all the happiness in the world! Hugs!!!

Stephanie and Simon were one of my summer 2010 couples that I haven’t posted yet. Sorry you guys! Here are some pictures from their beautiful (SUNNY) day in Olympia, WA. They have the best smiles ever! So happy together…this is why I do what I do! :-)

Stephanie and Simon were nice enough to email me a very sweet testimonial that I’ll paste below. Thank you guys so much!!

“We can’t say enough great things about our experience with Take 5 Photography. We connected with Missy via our mutual friends, Scott and Heather Stuart, whose wedding Missy photographed in Fall 2009. We loved LOVED the photos that she took of their wedding and didn’t hesitate to book her for our June 2010 wedding. Missy and her equally-talented photographer husband, Patrick, arrived early, stayed late, took over 3,000 exceptional shots of our 200+ attendee wedding, were flexible and accommodating, and across-the-board highly professional and inherently talented photographers. Take 5 Photography is an exceptional value for the quality.

We absolutely recommend Missy and Patrick and welcome any questions from potential buyers.

November is catch-up month for me! I had the most sessions I’ve ever had this summer, combined with 10 weddings and a house remodel…I’m WAY behind. I want to thank my bride and grooms for their patience these last few months so here’s a sneak peek of your wedding and you’ll also be getting a special bonus when your products are shipped. Whew! What a summer!

Thanks guys!! xoxo

All my facebook friends should remember this couple! Craziest cake cutting pictures I’ve ever photographed…what a fun (& forgiving!) couple!

Gabrielle and Huy got married on one of the sunniest days of the summer at the Grand Lodge McMenamins in Forest Grove, OR. There isn’t a ton of shady areas there but we made it work! I love LOVE the willow trees…one of my favorite places to photograph couples. Gab & Huy only wanted 6 hours of their wedding photographed so I didn’t get to capture Huy getting ready at all and only Gabrielle getting into her dress. If you’d like your full day covered I recommend going with 8 hours of photography time just to be sure!

Thanks Gabrielle and Huy for being such a funny, laid back, and loving couple! Not to mention your patience with me getting these pictures to you! Thanks a ton! xoxo

Omigosh I am so behind on blogging my weddings!! Emily and Tim were married July 24th at St Mary’s in downtown Portland (you can see their engagement session here). They are such an amazing couple, the love they have for each other is so apparent. The way Tim looked at Emily throughout their wedding day gave me goosebumps! So cute!

There was a bit of an oops that day though…the priest forgot to tell the couple to kiss! They were introduced as man and wife then they were told to walk down the aisle! The expressions I captured when their bridal party told them they didn’t do their first kiss was priceless! They had their first kiss as a married couple outside in front of her bridal party and family. More special that way! We went back in the church when everyone was gone and they got a nice private moment in front of the alter with lots of picture opportunities! I kinda wish all weddings worked that way! (just kidding)

Thanks Emily and Tim for allowing us to be there to capture your special day. Good luck in Colorado!

I am soooo behind on blogging weddings! Where has the summer gone?! Wow…

Anyway! Here’s Taylor and Aaron’s beautiful day in Seattle, WA on June 5th, 2010. Taylor is my husband Patrick’s good friend from college. We were so excited when she wanted us to photograph their important day!

They had great luck with the weather, there were no clouds in the sky. Hard to find good photo locations, but we didn’t have to battle the rain or cold! We started off with getting ready at Taylor’s parents house, then after the first look we headed to Gasworks Park. There were some beautiful trees we used for bridal party pictures. Then we continued on to the UW campus. To say these 2 are Husky fans is an understatement! It was hard for this die-hard Coug to walk on the UW campus for long, but I powered through it. :-)

After getting some great portraits and fun football field shots, we arrived at Sand Point Community United Methodist Church for formal pictures and the ceremony (of course). I love churches with loft areas! Overalls are beautiful.

Finally, after the ceremony we ended the day with a fun reception at the Sand Point Country Club. We took Taylor and Aaron around the grounds for more portraits, then came inside to photograph all their fun details. They had a beautiful candy bar, colorful cake, and they even had the “voice of the Huskies” there to announce them!

It was a beautiful day and Patrick and I had a blast! Thanks so much for having us there to photograph your wedding Taylor and Aaron! Hope you enjoy your pictures. :-)

Heidi and Travis were married May 30th, 2010 at the Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood, OR. It was a snowy, overcast day, but they were troopers! Even getting in a snow cat and driving farther up the mountain for more pictures. Unfortunately there were white out conditions when we got up there, but we took a couple anyway and the snow cat ride provided some nice private moments. :-)

Congrats Heidi and Travis and thank you for your patience in getting these to you! What a summer it’s been! Whew!

Here’s the last part of our beach retreat shootout! Group member Maalaea of i & m photography was so beautiful as our model. Thank you Maalaea!
